As the Power BI Product Owner, you will be the cornerstone of our business intelligence strategy, responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining Power BI solutions that empower stakeholders across the organization.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand their data needs, translate business requirements into technical solutions, and deliver intuitive, visually compelling dashboards and reports. This role is critical in enabling data-driven decision-making and ensuring our payment solutions remain innovative, efficient, and customer-centric.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Power BI Strategy & Roadmap:

  • Define and own the vision, strategy, and roadmap for Power BI solutions, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic goals.
  • Prioritize and manage the product backlog, balancing short-term deliverables with long-term objectives.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously enhance our BI capabilities.

2. Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Partner with business leaders, finance, accountants, product managers, data analysts, and IT teams to identify key metrics, KPIs, and reporting requirements.
  • Act as the bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment on priorities.
  • Conduct workshops and training sessions to gather requirements and promote the adoption of Power BI tools.

3. Dashboard & Report Development:

  • Design and develop interactive, visually stunning dashboards and reports that provide actionable insights into payment trends, customer behavior, fraud detection, and operational performance.
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability by implementing robust data modeling and governance practices.
  • Optimize Power BI solutions for performance, scalability, and usability.

4. Data Governance & Best Practices:

  • Establish and enforce best practices for data visualization, ensuring compliance with data security and privacy regulations.
  • Collaborate with data engineers and architects to ensure seamless integration of data sources and ETL/ELT processes.
  • Monitor and maintain the health of Power BI solutions, addressing issues and implementing improvements as needed.

5. Enablement & Training:

  • Train and support end-users to maximize the value of Power BI tools, fostering a data-driven culture across the organization.
  • Create documentation, tutorials, and resources to empower users to self-serve and explore data independently.

6. Innovation & Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities to leverage advanced analytics, AI, and machine learning within Power BI to enhance our insights and decision-making capabilities.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve existing dashboards and reports to meet evolving business needs.

What We’re Looking For:

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or a related field, with at least 2 years in a Power BI Product Owner or similar role.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Power BI, including OLAP cubes, DAX, data modeling, and advanced visualization techniques.
  • Strong SQL skills, including the ability to write complex queries, optimize query performance, and troubleshoot issues.
  • Experience working with APIs to integrate data from various sources into Power BI.
  • Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT processes, including data extraction, transformation, and loading.
  • Basic data modeling experience, including designing and implementing relational and dimensional data models.
  • Proven experience working in the payments, fintech, or financial services industry, with a deep understanding of payment processing, fraud detection, and customer behavior analytics.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into business value.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with Python or R for data analysis and manipulation.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
  • Knowledge of advanced analytics, AI, and machine learning concepts.
  • Certification in Power BI or related technologies (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate).

Location and language:

  • Onsite participation is preferred at our Pardaugava office in Riga, Latvia, or in our future office in Cyprus.
  • Fluent English is required for company communication. Also, your teammates speak Russian.
