This time, we have an opening in the IT department.

The job is simple. Make sure we don’t get pwnd. Your job will be to understand our business, identify what threats we have, and mitigate them. You will have the support of other engineers in the company, but you will also be expected to work both with people and tech to make sure we’re safe.

We strive to be the best versions of ourselves professionally, so we expect you to be great at your job too. It should be something you enjoy, brag about at parties, and do not just for the money, but for the pleasure of it.

Your key results:

• You talk to people, learn about our business, and understand the security threats we have
• You maintain a list of threats, prioritise them, devise ways to mitigate them, and implement the mitigation controls
• You implement both technical controls (with the help of other engineers) and processes backed up by policies for non-technical threats
• Both business people and your technical colleagues understand the risks of their work, you regularly educate them on new and existing threats
• Security controls are automated to reduce manual work and errors
• Security incidents are noticed and followed up on
• Stakeholders are aware of your progress, what has been done, and what still remains
  

Your background:

• Experience in setting up a wholistic security program in a regulated line of business
• Communicating your strategy to the stakeholders
• Working with people and running educational programs
• Understanding of infrastructure, cloud, network and application security
• Experience with zero-trust architecture
• Experience with pen testing tools, intrusion detection, and vulnerability scanning
• Understanding of compliance standards (e.g. PCI DSS, ISO 27001)
• Experience with cloud technologies (AWS), virtualization (EC2, Docker, Proxmox), scripting
• Good understanding of data privacy
• Experience with crypto is a big plus
  
  

Location and language:

• We prefer for you to be in Riga, Latvia, or at least be able to travel to Riga regularly.
• We’re a mixed team of Russian and English-speaking people, so you should know both.
